On 11/13/19, HHS Senior Hilda Nuutinen became the first Hudson Girls  lacrosse player to sign and accept a scholarship to play lacrosse at the DII Collegiate level.   Hilda will attend and play lacrosse at Northern Michigan University in the Fall of 2020.

Hilda has played lacrosse since she was in 2nd grade, starting in Stillwater and then part of Hudson's first girls lacrosse team.  She is also a member of the MN Lakers Select Club Team that plays during the off-season.  The Hudson Girls Lacrosse Program is incredibly proud of Hilda and her accomplishments and look forward to her future success in Michigan!   Hilda is paving the way for many young women in our lacrosse organization to pursue their dreams of playing at the collegiate level.

Juniors, Sophie Barker and Hilda Nuutinen were selected to the All-State All-Star Team that participated in a game at Carroll University in Waukesha, WI on June 8th.  Both girls represented the Hudson Area Lacrosse Association and the Hudson community very well. Congratulations Raiders!

HALA would like to welcome Courtney "CJ" Jones Holm to our coaching staff!

Former Division III Athlete, Courtney "CJ" Jones Holm, joins the Hudson Lacrosse team  originally from the St. Louis Metro Area. CJ is coming from the Eau Claire area to join Hudson Lax.  CJ played for NCAA DIII Augustana Vikings in Rock Island, IL. Before  beginning collegiate lacrosse, CJ was a four year  O'Fallon Township High School in Southern Illinois. CJ was a four year letter athlete for OTHS. CJ also played for Brave Lax in St. Louis where CJ made the All-Tournament Team and Outstanding Goalkeeper at the Indian Prairie Showdown and the Best of the Midwest Tournaments. CJ also won MVP honors at Northwestern University Black Camp.  While in Southern Illinois, CJ assisted in youth lacrosse team Styx Lacrosse teams and camps.

Outside of Lacrosse, CJ was a sign language interpreter in Illinois and Missouri where CJ earned her Bachelor's degree in American Sign Language to English Interpretation and Deaf Studies from MacMurray College of IL.  CJ worked closely with schools in the Central Illinois Region learning effective strategies for Deaf Education. CJ also worked closely with the Illinois School for the Deaf in interpreting sports events and tutoring.  CJ later went on to graduate school at the University of Wisconsin-Stout where she will graduate with a Master's of Science in Education along with a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder May 2019.

While attending graduate school, CJ was a Special Education Paraprofessional in several school districts in the Chippewa Valley and also a teacher for Sylvan Learning Center. CJ also coached basketball and gymnastics this season for Menomonie Middle School.

"I look forward to creating a strong defense for both girls and boys Hudson Lax teams. I am excited to return to the game and preparing the high school students for collegiate athletics."
